Jude Shuma: Suzy Space Cadet Review

Suzy Space Cadet is Jude Shuma’s newest album that was released last Friday on 10/7/21. The album has 9 tracks and follows the story of Suzy, a girl who wants to escape her boring life and find meaning outside of her world. What makes this album really stand out is that it was released with a comic, and every song goes along with a page. This project was particularly interesting to me because I love the idea of creating a full story within an album where you have to listen to it in a specific order to piece it all together.
My favorite song from the album was “Flight Command.” I think it did a good job capturing the feeling of hopelessness that Jude was trying to convey at the end of the story. It also left me feeling a bit uneasy… but like, in a good I wanna listen to it again kinda way. 

I think the best way to listen to this album would be to put on some good headphones, lay down, and just let it take you wherever you wanna go. If you're feeling a little bored or stressed out by life, Suzy Space Cadet might just be the perfect 18 minute escape you need.
